Do we have a reference of AASHTO approval?
[edit]Going through the refs, I am not finding anything definitive that I-2 is officially an recognized Interstate Highway. Do we have anything from AASHTO to confirm this outright, the last review in May denied this Interstate. --WashuOtaku (talk) 19:18, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- Um, it was approved on May 24, 2013. "Confirmation of the names was made by Victor M. Mendez, administrator in the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration on Thursday during a two-day visit to the Valley. “As of today we have approved the designation of Interstate 2. The Texas Transportation Commission has taken action on this and approved it. So, TxDOT can begin placing the shields on the highways,” - The Bushranger One ping only 19:42, 5 October 2013 (UTC)

- AASHTO's Special Committee on US Route Numbering denied the designation along with I-69C and I-69E, but the Standing Committee on Highways override that decision. See the source in footnote 4 which says: "Please note: SCOH approved all three Texas Interstate Routes with the condition that they are approved by FHWA. Therefore, all applications submitted to the Special Committee on U.S. Route Numbering are approved since SCOH overruled the Special Committee decision and the SCOH decision was accepted by the AASHTO Board of Directors on May 7, 2013." Signage
[edit]Are I-2, I-69C, or I-69E signed yet? I do not live in the area and Google Street View does not show signage. 174.98.21.222 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 23:14, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
